Your Guide To Lunar Eclipses 2021 and How to Get Ready For Them Now

It’s about time for another of those fun, engaging articles that you love to read on repeat and feel in sync with, what am I talking about? Yes, astrology, you guess it right and it particular this time, lunar eclipses, solar eclipses all things with the moon as the main star.

As we jump into a new year hoping it’ll be better in a global perspective than 2020 was (don’t blame your fave sign on its retrograde position or the fact that 2020 was fulled with not two or three but seven eclipses in total for the whole year, don’t worry my Astro friends this year will be a little bit more relaxing on that specter as we’ll only have to worry about four eclipses taking place in 2021).

What is an Eclipse?

According to Astro Style, eclipses are agents of change. They occur four to six times a year and turn things upside-down. In our disoriented state, we may act out of character or see turbulence in the world. Eclipses can also help break patterns and shift dynamics. However, most astrologers suggest waiting a week or so before taking drastic action, allowing the eclipse energy to settle first.

Is there any difference between a Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse?

What is a Lunar Eclipse as seen by the NASA?

The moon moves in an orbit around the Earth, and at the same time, the Earth orbits the sun. Sometimes the Earth moves between the sun and the moon. When this happens, the Earth blocks the sunlight that normally is reflected by the moon. Instead of light hitting the moon’s surface, the Earth’s shadow falls on it. This is an eclipse of the moon aka a lunar eclipse. That being said, a lunar eclipse will only occur when the moon is in its full form. And there are two types of lunar eclipses: total lunar eclipses and partial lunar eclipses.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the moon and the sun are on exact opposite sides of Earth. Although the moon is in Earth’s shadow, some sunlight reaches the moon. The sunlight passes through Earth’s atmosphere, which causes Earth’s atmosphere to filter out most of the blue light. This makes the moon appear red to people on Earth, which is commonly known as Blood Moon.

A partial lunar eclipse happens when only a part of the moon enters Earth’s shadow. In a partial eclipse, Earth’s shadow appears very dark on the side of the moon facing Earth. What people see from Earth during a partial lunar eclipse depends on how the sun, Earth, and Moon are lined up.

General FAQS

  • Just so you know a lunar eclipse will usually last for a few hours.
  • At least two partial lunar eclipses happen every year, but total lunar eclipses are rare.
  • It is safe to look at a lunar eclipse.

What is a Solar Eclipses as seen by the NASA?

Sometimes when the moon orbits Earth, it moves between the sun and Earth. When this happens, the moon blocks the light of the sun from reaching Earth. This causes an eclipse of the sun or solar eclipse. During a solar eclipse, the moon casts a shadow onto Earth. When referring to Solar Eclipses we have three different types of solar eclipses:

The first is a total solar eclipse. A total solar eclipse is only visible from a small area on Earth. The people who see the total eclipse are in the center of the moon’s shadow when it hits Earth. The sky becomes very dark as if it were night. For a total eclipse to take place, the sun, moon, and Earth must be in a direct line. The last one was on 4 of December 2002 and the next will take place on 22 July 2028, as you can see this is one of the most uncommon eclipses.

The second type of solar eclipse is a partial solar eclipse. This happens when the sun, moon, and Earth are not exactly lined up. The sun appears to have a dark shadow on only a small part of its surface.

The third type is an annular solar eclipse. An annular eclipse happens when the moon is farthest from Earth. Because the moon is farther away from Earth, it seems smaller. It does not block the entire view of the sun. The moon in front of the sun looks like a dark disk on top of a larger sun-colored disk. This creates what looks like a ring around the moon.

General FAQS

  • Solar eclipses happen once every 18 months.
  • Unlike lunar eclipses, solar eclipses only last for a few minutes.
  • NEVER look directly at the sun: It can permanently damage your eyes! You must use proper safety equipment to look at any type of solar eclipse.

What are the dates of all the eclipse 2021?

  • Wednesday, May 26: Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius
  • Thursday, June 10: Annular Solar Eclipse in Gemini
  • Friday, November 19: Partial Lunar Eclipse in Taurus
  • Saturday, December 4: Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

In astrology, the Moon’s lunar nodes are referred to as the North and South Nodes, which symbolize destiny, karma, and purpose. So it should come as no surprise that eclipses are pretty…extra. During an eclipse season, you may encounter lots of seemingly abrupt, impulsive decisions. Sounds familiar, yes we feel you!

How a Solar Eclipse Can Affect Your Energy?

In astrology, a solar eclipse could bring a bold beginning, setting us on a new path that we hadn’t imagined for ourselves. While it may be surprising a solar eclipse has a bigger vision in store for us. However, since the sun is obscured by the moon, often first begins internally before they affect our relationships with others. For many people, solar eclipses are when they realize they need more than what they’re currently receiving. It’s a time to send cosmic invitations to the universe and to welcome abundance.

How a Lunar Eclipse Can Affect Your Energy?

On the other side, we have lunar eclipses, and these my friends, give us a glimpse into what we all want to think of ourselves, and what we might discover during these lunations can be tough to admit, even shocking. During lunar eclipses, we are encouraged to let go of whatever is no longer serving the soul. This is the time to release, purge, and say goodbye.

Brace yourself for a wild few weeks, or even months because my Astro aficionados everything is changing in 2021.

What is astrology without rituals, like skincare without a cleanser right?

So let me tell you a little bit about my personal experience on this, last year I joined a group ritual via Zoom for one of the Lunar Eclipses that happened in 2020 and I personally loved the experience, we were identifying what was no longer serving us, writing it on a piece of paper and then carefully burn it down it’s seen as a clear of energies and to let go of barriers and limits to allow a time of healing within ourselves I highly recommend you to gather with some friends and try to do the same, it will at least be a fun experience to enjoy with your girls, that’s for sure.
